Black History Month Poetry Features
I am hosting two events next week, featuring some of Sacramento's best poets, Sean Kinga, Laura Cook, Kelly Freeman, and Anna Marie Sprowl. ON Monday, February 11, all four poets will appear at the Sacramento Poetry Center at 7:30 PM. Then on Wednesday, February 13, Anna, Sean, and Laura will perform at Cosumnes River College in the Recital Hall, from 12:00 to 1:20 PM. Come experience these events, where you will hear from the best of Sac. Anna Marie Sprowl is a native of Southern California and has been writing different forms of poetry since she was a child. Recently she has taken her talents to the stage and has moved many with her domestic and political pieces. She has performed at the Crocker Art Museum, the Sacramento Poetry Center, Mahogany and The Guild Theatre among other venues. Her poetry has also been accompanied by the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet and she is the reigning 2012 Love Jones Slam Champion. Anna Marie currently resides in the Sacrament
